Robbie Weiss, NASCAR's Vice President of Broadcasting, will be discharged today from a rehabilitation facility after less than two weeks of treatment. He will now be allowed to recuperate from his brain aneurysm as an out patient. Weiss suffered the aneurysm in late January and has been recovering since.
Weiss's recovery has been quite remarkable. Family members say he is now able to shower on his own, shave on his own, dress on his own, walk on his own without the assistance of a walker or cane, and is able to speak in a conversational format. He has also been reading with comprehension and complete understanding.
Weiss is now eating normally and ordering what he wants to eat. He is also using the proper utensils for eating on his own. Therefore, the rehabilitation facility saw no reason to keep him any longer.
Weiss is looking forward to regaining his normal life away from any and all institutions.
Based on his present cognitive performance, his complete recovery from out-patient care should require a minimum amount of time. Get well Robbie...we can't wait to see you back at the track again. - John 'Captain Thunder' Nevins for www.CaptainThunderRacing.com
