Joe Gibbs Racing has had their engine issues, both on and off the racetrack.
Last season, not only did the Toyota team lose multiple engines on the racetrack, they also had a fire erupt in the JGR engine shop.
Fast forward to today - another fire. Luckily, no one was injured in the blaze. Reports are that a few employees inhaled some smoke, but no one has been transported to the hospital as of yet.
Late last season, JGR agreed to let Toyota Racing Development's engine team work with them to improve performance as well as engine life. They may want to just switch to TRD engines full time and forget about building their own stuff before someone gets seriously hurt.
Head engine builder Mark Cronquist has quickly become a legendary builder thanks to his speed, precision, and many awards. But, engines have been an issue at JGR for more than a year now, and it's time for a change. - Captain Thunder - www.CaptainThunderRacing.com
